In addition to helping her students at 12th and Marion Elementary learn to speak English, Judy is dedicated to helping those around her understand the language of money. To accomplish this goal, she has hosted a pair of financial education nights based on “Right on the Money,” forged a partnership with a local bank and Operation Hope to provide age-appropriate personal finance lessons to fourth graders and collaborated with Economics Pennsylvania and Giant Foods to bring financial education programs in English and Spanish to her school. Judy says these efforts have also lead to valuable connections with the community. “This was all started by attending the Governor’s Institute on Financial Education and just sharing information. The power of sharing is amazing.”
