Kim is passionate about teaching young people how to establish habits of saving and managing money so they will not experience the stress of living paycheck to paycheck. At the end of her participation in last year’s Governor’s Institute, Kim developed several goals for herself to enhance financial education not only for her students and their families, but also members of her church and hometown communities. Students in one of her classes were required to create budgets and plan their activities and make purchases according to that budget. In another class, students used the Right on the Money curriculum to teach financial principles to young children. She also learned at the Governor’s Institute, and shared with members of her community, techniques to deal with financial solicitations and how to organize personal financial information.
