Ripple Effect Awards
Honoring Pennsylvania teachers for their efforts to enhance financial education
The Ripple Effect Award recognizes teachers who have made substantial contributions to enhance financial education since participating in the Governor’s Institute. As the theme of the award is the “ripple effect” meaning that the individual’s efforts have (or will have) an effect on others, improvements to one’s own personal finances, while certainly outstanding and commendable, were not considered. Examples of efforts that qualify one for an award include, but are not limited to:
- Leading an effort to make a course in personal finance a graduation requirement in your school district
- Coordinating a personal finance professional development program for teachers in your school, district or intermediate unit
- Spearheading a financial education program within a community-based organizations such as Girl Scouts or a church
- Implementing a unique or innovative financial education unit or course for your students
